C2 is proud to partner with Islands of Brilliance, a tech-centric creative learning experience developed specifically for children and young adults with Autism. Students are matched one-to-one with mentors—design field professionals—which not only changes public perception of this disability, it also paves the way for future higher education and employment opportunities.
Now you have the amazing opportunity to volunteer at IOB’s Movie Poster Design Workshop, with guest artist Sean Donnelly, Creative Director at GS Design. Volunteering is the perfect way to get in the holiday spirit! In this fun, 2 1/2 hour workshop students get to choose their favorite holiday movie or TV special, and then create/recreate a new poster or DVD cover! Sean will lead the workshop, starting off with a presentation on his love of classic movie poster design!
Volunteer roles needed: Design Mentor, Art Buddy, IOB-BFF
Workshops are limited to 8 students — each student is matched 1 : 1 with a Design Mentor. They offer an “unplugged” maker’s area—manned by an Art Buddy—as a technology break or as an opportunity for students to add a variety of media to their digital design project. The IOB-BFF role assists with workshop setup, volunteer and student assistance, and being an extra set of hands whenever needed.
Make someone’s holiday brighter this season, volunteer today!
